Job Update--JOB FOUND! :-)

I got a job at Arby's! Great restaurant! Their BeefNCheddar sandwich is excellent!

Manager is a straight shooter. I perceive being able to do exactly what I need to do, please the uppers, and be able to advance steadily.

I am keeping this job, as a goal, for one year, evaluate my progress along the way, and at the end of the first year, see what might be available for advancement.

I am so friggin' happy! :-) I've been out of work for over three months, and now I have a job!

One Goal Accomplished!

Near-Future Phone Purchase Notation

I am going to purchase the following item, either before my next Social Security Direct Deposit (on the 3rd of December), or shortly thereafter:

Reasoning and Responsibilities

  • I need dependable phone service, along with a device that will allow me to access email, the Web, as well as allow me to use Application Software which will give me the ability to manage my finances--such as bank account transactions and balances--, offer me the ability to communicate with my social networks on Facebook and Twitter, as well as provide me with a dependable business device mobile platform with which to communicate with my employers, both regular and contracted.
  • The Nokia E71 uses the Symbian Operating System for Mobile Devices. This particular phone has been out a few years now, and has a solid offering of about 5000 Applications that may be downloaded, most of them for free. Among the free software, voice-guided navigation with OVI Maps, is, perhaps, one of most with the greatest benefit, as it uses the built-in GPS Receiver system of the E71 to provide directions to wherever the user wants to go.

  • To keep my communications needs affordable: The Nokia e71 Smart Phone is a proven, solid business device, and uses the AT&T GSM Mobile Communications Network in the United States; as the phone comes unlocked, I can also use it abroad, should I go overseas for work.
  • This phone will be a business tax deduction.

Application Entry Log

Applied for Work at FFE Transportation, Lancaster, Texas.

Notation: This company has it's own school in Arkansas, which is not too far from where I live in Missouri.

I have decided to not rule out truck driving anymore. Reason: I earned the license, so I might as well make good use of it.

Making Some Slow Progress

It's November 1st, 2010. Fall is in full swing, and the chillier weather has moved in to central Missouri. It feels good to me, like an old friend, waving to me from a great distance, and welcoming me, inviting me, to come home again; not necessarily for a visit, either.

Educationally, I'm still decided upon Geospatial Technology as a profession. I don't think I'm going to find it in mid-Missouri, though.

Am still researching Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Will call my Vocational Rehabilitation, Client Assistance Program representative tomorrow and see what's up. She told me she 'had to check on a few things.' I will reserve judgment until I receive more information; then I'll judge all I want ;-) LOL. (Sometimes a little levity is necessary.)

Lately, I've been feeling a comforting stoicism, which is allowing me the ability to 'stand tall in the breeze,' and just let the brouhaha go completely around me. The fact is, I may not sway those in this area to let me go forward without yielding to their desires. Well, I can leave, and shall if nothing goes the way I want it.

It's time to get together with people of like mind, and I'm getting tired of seeming ignorance about and through with the more, so-called, 'professional' people I meet. A degree doesn't necessarily make you a professional; rather, it's an earned, developed Art. ...more later --SB
